ALL FLEET TYRE SOLUTIONS For Puncture Protection, Longer Tyre Life and More Miles Per Gallon The solution repairs punctures "as they happen" A small quantity of liquid gel solution is installed before the puncture, it is then always on guard and permanently seals all safely repairable punctures, that's 95% of today's high speed punctures, "As They Happen". The repair cures within seconds using the ordinary road heat of the tyre. The repair lasts for the legal tread life of the tyre. There is no speed or distance restriction. Tyres last up to 40% longer! The gel solution coats the inner surface creating a sealed air chamber virtually eliminating air loss so there is no longer any need to top up with air between services. Your tyres now run at the correct pressure, do not overheat and run with less rolling resistance. More miles from every gallon of fuel! Less rolling resistance also means more miles per gallon. 30% of your fuel is used to overcome the rolling resistance of the tyres just 8psi under-inflation increases rolling resistance by 15% Effectively running on tyres 10psi below the recommended level adds a cost equivalent to an extra 3p a litre of fuel. source Michelin - March 2006 [That was back in March 2006 - since then fuel prices have increased so it is costing you even more now if your tyres are not kept at the correct pressure! Use our solutions and get more miles for your money] Excess heat is a tyre killer Un-treated tyres lose air due to natural air migration resulting in tyres that are under inflated. Under inflated tyres have more rolling resistance and generate excess heat. Some heat in a tyre is desirable, but excess heat causes the tyre to wear out sooner and, as the tyre overheats, the rubber softens and is more easily penetrated by nails etc. Properly inflated tyres are safer! 6% of all fatal motorway accidents in the UK are caused by under inflated tyres. Running 15psi under inflated lowers the speed at which the car will aquaplane on a wet surface by 10mph. Also, running under inflated can cause a build up of excess heat that can permanently weaken the tyre’s structure. Low pressure also reduces cornering capability. source Michelin Go Greener...Reduce Your arbon Tyre Print "If we all drove with the correct tyre pressures we would contribute to reducing CO2 emissions by 5.5million tonnes per year." source Michelin We have the solution to help keep your tyres at the correct pressure. In a very small number of cases cars with low profile tyres have vibration problems. This is due to the strengthening ridges inside the low profile tyres inhibiting the product spreading evenly. If you wish to install into low profile tyres against our recommendation you must be aware that if persistent vibration occurs you would have to remove the tyres and wash out the product at your own cost. Balance / Contamination Tyres and wheels must be in balance and free of internal contamination. If there is an existing imbalance the centrifugal force of the imbalance can pull the product out of position. There will then be a larger imbalance which can become more noticeable as a vibration. Contamination can prevent the product contacting the entire inner surface resulting in patchy coverage causing imbalance. It can take a long time for the product to break down contaminants and get to the tyre. If imbalance persists you would have to remove the tyres, wash out the product and correct the imbalance problem before re-installing, all at your own cost. Electronic Pressure Sensors Some vehicle manufacturers are now offering electronic tyre pressure sensing systems. We do not recommend installing into wheels which are fitted with electronic air pressure sensing equipment. Some owners have the sensors removed and the system deactivated when replacing tyres due to the high cost of the pressure sensing equipment which may need to be replaced at the same time as the tyres; if this has been done the product can be used subject to the usual terms. Postage / Carriage We are not responsible for goods after dispatch, claims for lost / damaged goods must be made to the appropriate carrier, if you require insurance cover for the full value of the goods in transit ask for a quote before ordering. Postage / carriage rates quoted as inclusive or additional are for uninsured mainland UK. For other areas please ask. From Michelin's Press Releases March 2006 & November 2007 66% of cars on the road are running on under inflated tyres. • 42% are so low they are at risk of crashing. • 6% of all fatal motorway accidents in the UK are caused by under inflated tyres. If we all pumped our tyres up to the correct pressure UK motorists would save £1billion a year. Just a reduction of 8psi increases rolling resistance by 15% leading to a 3% increase in fuel consumption. And air is free! If you are driving on tyres just 20% under inflated – maybe as little as 6lbs below the recommended pressure – you’ll get 26% fewer miles out of your tyres. This means that over 70,000 miles of motoring you could save the cost of two tyres, by only having to buy six rather than eight, and this is just by keeping the pressures correct. Under inflated tyres are not only costly, they are dangerous. Running 15psi under inflated lowers the speed at which the car will aquaplane on a wet surface by 10mph. Also, running under inflated can cause a build up of excess heat that can permanently weaken the tyre’s structure. Low pressure also reduces cornering capability. (Stoke-on-Trent, November 2007) Michelin has found that almost 80% of cars on British roads are running with incorrect tyre pressures and over 50% are dangerous and risking an accident following the Company’s nationwide inspection survey. More than 2,300 cars were inspected at 13 venues in the UK with 36% found to have at least one tyre between 7 and 12 psi below the recommended pressure and an additional 15% were found to be at least 14psi or more below the specified level. At this level of under-inflation a tyre could be 50% below the safe, correct pressure. 13% of the vehicles inspected were driving on a tyre with a puncture, 4% had over-inflated tyres. The Michelin “Fill up with air” campaign is a pan-European educational roadshow designed to bring home the importance of regular tyre pressure checks and adjustment. Correct tyre pressures are essential for safety and economy. Incorrect tyre pressures adversely affect cornering ability, braking capability and vehicle stability; and under-inflated tyres increase fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Campaign results over the period 2003-2007 put the UK in 25th place out of 27 countries ; Germany is best where only 1 in 8 (12.5%) cars have under inflated tyres. “This is an appalling state of affairs for British motorists,” says Peter Snelling, Head of Communications, Michelin UK. “It is the responsibility of every motorist to check and adjust his or her tyre pressures regularly. It is not an expensive or complicated task and only needs a couple of minutes effort each week.” “Motorists complain about the state of the roads and the penal cost of motoring but are simply lazy when it comes to the most basic road safety precaution. If we all drove with the correct tyre pressures we would save £2billion in fuel costs and contribute to reducing CO2 emission by 5.5million tonnes per year. Effectively running on tyres 10psi below the recommended level adds a cost equivalent to an extra 3p a litre of fuel. Price is dependant on distance travelled and size of tyres which dictates the quantity of product used.
